Anambra Socials

Reporting Our Communities. Amplifying Our Voices.

Editorial Policy

These are the editorial standards adopted for Anambra Socials. They describe how material should be prepared and labelled; they are not a claim that every historical allegation has been independently verified.

Accuracy and attribution

Distinguish what is directly documented from residents’ accounts, allegations, official statements and analysis. Check dates, locations and names where evidence is available. Identify significant uncertainty and seek relevant responses before presenting contested allegations as established fact.

News, opinion and community reports

News reports events with attributed sources. Opinion and Commentary contain judgments or arguments and must be labelled. Community report identifies material based on residents’ accounts or submitted footage; submission alone is not verification.

Advertising and conflicts

Paid articles must carry a prominent Sponsored or Advertisement label and identify the sponsor. Advertising must be distinguishable from editorial reporting. Material conflicts and relevant financial support should be disclosed.

Images and AI

Credit the creator or source when known. Label illustrations and AI-generated editorial images. Do not present generated imagery as evidence of a real event. Existing image credits that are not recorded should be identified as such until confirmed.

Corrections and right of reply

Readers and affected parties can request corrections or submit a response through Contact Us. Follow the Corrections Policy for material changes. Do not change publication dates to make old news appear new.
